ChromeOS Flex leaves its beta phase and is now compatible with more than 400 devices

Last February we were completely surprised by Google launching a new operating system called ChromeOS Flex which was specially designed for those old computers and thus give it a new opportunity.

The system was quite attractive, since it offered you all the features of ChromeOS, except access to the Google Play Store, since the idea of this system is that the apps run directly from the cloud and thus spend less resources on these obsolete devices. .

Well, today ChromeOS Flex has left its beta phase and reached its stable version, in fact, Google announced that it is now compatible with more than 400 devices from major brands, such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, even with Apple, as some 2010 Macbooks are also compatible.

The stable version of ChromeOS Flex has improved in terms of energy efficiency. In fact, the operating system consumes 19% less power compared to other operating systems.

To be able to install ChromeOS Flex you only need a USB drive such as a flash drive and a Google app will download the system and leave it bootable on the USB device, which you must insert into the old computer and boot from it to then continue with the installation.

You can test the operating system by clicking here.
